New UK Visa route for Turkish business peopleWednesday, 9 September 2009 The UK Border Agency ('UKBA') has announced a new visa route for Turkish nationals applying to establish a business in the UK under the European Community Association Agreement ('ECAA'). Unveiled this week, the new arrangement enables Turkish nationals residing outside the UK to enter the UK under the Turkish ECAA business visa category. This category had previously only been open to Turkish nationals already in the UK. From April 2010, some Turkish nationals already in the UK will however no longer be able to switch into the Turkish ECAA business category, including overstayers, those on Temporary Admission ('TA') visas and those who have established businesses in the UK in breach of their existing visa conditions. Only those already present in the UK under the visitor visa category, those already present in the UK with permission to run a business and other exceptional cases will be considered.
